The short version
When you click a casino link on this site and go on to open an account, the casino pays us. You pay nothing extra, and your bonus is not smaller for having come through us — usually it is the same offer or a better one.
That is how nearly every casino review site on the internet is funded, including all the big ones. The question is never whether a review site is paid by the casinos it reviews. It is what the money buys.
What the money does buy
Let us be straight about it, because a disclosure claiming commission changes nothing is not credible.
It decides who we cover at all. We review casinos that run affiliate programmes, because that is what funds the site. There are casinos we do not review for no better reason than that there is no commercial route to them. If a great operator ran no affiliate programme, you would probably not find it here. That is a real limitation of this site and of every site like it.
It pays for the work. Reading forty pages of terms and conditions to find a withdrawal cap takes hours, and nobody pays us to do that directly.
What the money does not buy
Position. A casino cannot pay to be first. Our lists are ordered by what we judge most useful to the reader in that country — for Canada, that means the casinos that actually support Canadian dollars and Interac rank above ones that do not, regardless of what any of them pay.
Scores. Commission rate is not a scoring input, is not visible in the review workflow, and the people who write reviews are not the people who negotiate deals. The thresholds we score against are published on How We Rate, so you can check whether we applied them.
Silence. We publish withdrawal limits, maximum-cashout traps and weak licences on casinos that pay us. Some of the operators on this site score badly in places, and we say so on the page that earns us money. If an operator asks us to remove an accurate finding, the answer is no. If they show us a document proving we are wrong, we correct it and publish the correction.
Your country being ignored. We will not send you to a casino that refuses players where you live. We would earn nothing and you would find out at your first withdrawal attempt, which is the worst possible moment. Our United States page lists a single casino, because we checked all sixteen we review against their own terms and fifteen refuse US players. A page with one honest entry earns us far less than a page with ten dishonest ones. We took the hit.
How the links work
- Casino links on this site are affiliate links. They pass through our own
/go/redirect so we can see which operators we are sending traffic to and fix links quickly when an operator changes their tracking. - They are marked up with
rel="sponsored nofollow", which is how we tell search engines the link is commercial. That is required, and sites that do not do it are hiding something. - We block search engines from crawling the redirect itself, so these links pass no search ranking benefit to the casinos.
- We do not disguise affiliate links as editorial ones.
What we are paid
Commission in this industry takes a few forms. We use two:
- Revenue share — a percentage of the casino’s net revenue from players we send, for as long as they play.
- Cost per acquisition — a one-off amount for a player who signs up and deposits.
We will not pretend the first is not a conflict. Revenue share means we do better when a player loses more. We think the honest response is to say it out loud and then be judged on whether our content behaves that way: no system-betting content, no “how to beat the house” nonsense, prominent responsible-gambling routes, and reviews that lead with how hard it is to get your money out rather than how big the bonus is.
Deals we will not take
We do not enter arrangements that give an operator editorial leverage over us, and we do not accept any arrangement that pays us more for withholding information from readers.
Advertising
We do not currently run paid placement, paid guest posts, or sold links. If that changes, paid placement will be labelled as advertising, kept visually distinct, and excluded from every ranked list.
Regulatory position
Gambling advertising is regulated differently in every market, and some markets prohibit affiliate promotion entirely. We do not list casinos to readers in markets where the operator is not permitted to take them, and we exclude Ontario from all casino listings for everyone. Where we cannot responsibly serve a market, we would rather show nothing than show something that gets a reader into trouble.
